Harvey that makes a lot of sense we found him barely clinging on to the tree. Thought he was deceased as he wasn’t moving. It wasn’t until we had him perched that he flew off.
Was it early in the day? Most eclosions occur in the early hours of the morning, presumably as a means of avoiding day-time predators, so they will also take time to warm up and be fully active, particularly if it's a cool or overcast day.
