There were lots and lots of damage on gum leaves by what I presume is some kind of lurp. Is a lurp a creature in itself, or is it just the pupa of other creatures? Can you tell species by this photo (without photo of lurp!)

Lerps are aphid like creatures that protect themselves with a waxy covering. Can't tell from the photos but it would appear thatch of what is photographed may be gall damage.
