This was a tall grass with a head that looked like fountains!

have to get a closer image of the seed head, just to be sure ..could be Chilean needle Grass... but more likely Austrostipa sp.. densiflora? what do others reckon.. might go and check it out on site

Hi Kyliegw and njones, I agree it could either be Chilean Needle Grass or Austrostipa densiflora. The telltail sign for CNG is the ring ('corona') between the seed head and the awn. The photos whilst close aren't close enough to tell. It would be great if you could visit the site njones :)
