User's notes

Lots, n lots, n lots, n lots of bees in a swarm - all over this box high up in tree. Hope the occupant got away. The bees appear settled and making honey? The swarming was about 20 feet up and wide. I didn't want to go too close for a photo! Some bees flying appeared darker or blacker but hard to tell. Moving quickly.

Yes, it's been a big season for swarms. Honey bees are quite keen on the dimensions of nestboxes (and tree hollows for that matter) and frequently set up home in them. They could be just passing by, but if they fancy it, expect the activity to settle down to a steady coming and going of bees.
