This tree was in awful shape. The main trunk and branches looked like they had completed died off and most of leaves were coming from suckers from the base. However,some of the dead looking branches did have re-growth and they looked the same as this leaf. Looks more like an indoor plant than a gum tree?

Very hard to tell without buds or fruits. The only clue is the leaves look penniveined, and it has rough bark, which means it may be a coastal mahogany Eucalypt. But that is uncertain so best place as just plant species till follow-up photos can be taken.
