Thanks Stephen. I am part of a research team studying the ecology, breeding success and movement of the Little Eagle in the wider ACT region. The reddishness on some of the feathers suggest that this may be a recently fledged bird (in Canberra this usually happens in Mid December - February ). Satellite trackers on Fledglings have revealed that in their first few months of flight our birds have traveled to Cape York, Port Melbourne, Rockhampton and Port Pirie.
