User's notes

What are the red berry looking things on these wattles? Do wattles have fruit? Or is it the eggs of something else?

The berry like growths are galls which are wattle growths caused by a midge fly and in which its larvae feed. The wattle looks like being a hybrid between Cootamundra wattle and perhaps Silver Wattle

THanks Michael. These were young wattles coming up around a very dead wattle tree on the edge of the gully.
