User's notes

At first I thought this was another Spotted Marsh frog. But on a second look it might be something else.

You’re spot on thinking it wasn’t a spotted marsh frog even though they often both have a dorsal stripe and blotches. The eyes and shape help in this instance.

Thanks Damian, I spend about 15mins later looking for one of these guys because I could hear them and hadn't seen one before. When I realised that it could have been one. Do they call from the water?

Hi Chris, they call both from the water and on land well way from water.

Thanks again Damian. That would explain why some of the calls sounded like they were coming from the middle of the paddock. Hopefully next time I'm out I get a better look at one of these guys.
