Although I have birds in these pics I was mainly interested in the shrubbery! (like the Knights of Ni) Both the LIttle Friarbird and the Superb Fairywrens appeared to be eating the pale purple berries on these bushes. I've never noticed they had berries before.

Looks like tree violet. Has tiny little flowers growing directly on the stem, followed by berries. A lovely plant (or good shrubbery, if you will), great to see the birds enjoying it

another new one on me Claire! Thank u! It is in the Aboriginal meeting place zone where a few Aboriginal specific plantings have taken place. I don't know if that helps or not.
