Basking at the base of a rock wall, western aspect. Both were coiled within a meter from each other.

I am soooo envious. 2 years of looking and I still haven't had one in the wild to take a photo of!

Is this usual behaviour? How late in teh year is it before they hunker down?

I suspect the mouse/rat plague may have something to do with it?
