Usually this species is pretty sickly and struggling but some of the bushes along the track were brimming with leaves and flowers.

Um.. I'm wondering if the second photo is actually not the varnish wattle? It did look really thick and larger than I usually see them.

Yeah all the pics are of varnish wattle. Seems like a pretty healthy specimen. The double vein up the leaf is an identifying feature
