I've heard of a resin bee before, but not a resin fly! I was looking at something else when I noticed these tiny flies going for the resin sap down the trunk of this wattle tree. They landed near it, disappeared into a hole (separately) and then came back out. Lots of hovering before and after. A new one on me.
