On unknown eucalypt. Non local. 2 plants ants one just died

Pretty sure this is just an unusual growth of the eucalypt tree itself.

I thought so initially, However on closer inspection there does appear to be the attachment point for both pieces/plants and the leaves do not have the euc smell/oil. Plus one of the possible mistletoe plants has died beyond the attachment point
