User's notes

First time I've seen this species. The orange red tail was very noticeable. It was sitting out on the track and quickly darted into short grass, and then slowly made its way into hiding, giving me a couple of opportunities to get photos - but in cover. I was disappointed with the site this visit - its really hemmed in by housing now.

Juveniles have a distinctive orange-red tinge on the ventral side of the tail, which is a distinguishing feature of the genus Morethia.
