I finally have a wattle out in flower and I don't recognise it! This lone bush (shape kind of like a beech leaf), very soft leaves and pale greyish green. Had a fair bit of dead wood in it, but the flowers were along the stems and the newer growth branches were orangey red. The leaves are reasonable long about 7cm. The flowers very small, but the bush is in a dry forest area. The bush itself was about 1.5m tall.
