There were small clumps of these flowers scattered about - they look like some kind of wild carnation?

Small purple flowers. Single flower per stem. About 50cm tall. These are not native. Hopefully one of our plant moderators can tell us the species :)

They were kind of pink. less than 30cm tall. And it looked like it had already flowered and this was the heads going into seed. Maiden Pink / Dianthus deltoides?
