Yes a number of Ennominae caterpillars have a laterally symmetric black and white mark on the second abdominal segment. But I am suspicious of the marks and constriction on the ~5th segment. I think the marks may be external indications of internal parasitoids. Ned: can you recall if the proximal mark was symmetrically disposed on left and right?
