is this dead? Barb I think it would be good to use Field Maps / Untreated Weeds to map ST. Parks indicated in-house treatment this winter as they did last winter. We know a lot of ST was missed last season in the reserve at The Fair and most likely because of extremely limited resources - it takes a long time to search thoroughly..... so I think, the best is to map as we go and find ST and hope for the best i.e. that Parks believe our id skills and mapping. I mapped ST when I treated it at sites where I hand-weeded StJW; I usually took 1 or 2 photos for CNM of one patch and mapped that patch with Field Maps / Treated Weeds which you can see on the 2022/23 Map / Treated Weeds. It was a lot of work to take photos for CNM (which I put on computer, then resize before upload to CNM) and map with Field Maps before treating ST, usually by cutting and spraying (to reduce damage to non targets when the ST are very big). I took the extra photos for CNM because sometimes I think Parks are ignoring us and our work and don't believe us. For instance when I mentioned large amounts of ST at the Fair last year and offered to treat together because we knew the main infestations, the offer was ignored and in house spraying of ST at The Fair covered only a tiny bit. I don't blame the ranger; ST was hard to locate in the tall ground cover and the ranger was most likely allowed a very limited amount of time for the task.

not sure - could have been sprayed by the horse people, maybe. I did map one patch of ST before my phone went flat. Not a lot of ST and what I did see was usually only a couple of plants in a location. You should ask CNM about resizing photos- its an extra task which is probably not needed now.
