The Copper-tailed Skink is tan-brown with a white-edged black vertebral stripe and three alternating black and white lateral stripes running along the body. There are no spots along the body. It grows to 80 mm snout to vent and is more common in Wodonga than in Albury where it is confined to a few rocky creeklines and outcrops on Nail Can Hill. It can be common on granite outcrops where it shelters beneath rocks that lie in contact with the bedrock. It is a swift, fast moving species active during the warmer months of the year.
