Gallinago hardwickii (Latham's Snipe)

Nationally Vulnerable species, as listed under the EPBC Act.

A migratory shorebird species, that breeds in Japan and eastern Russia during the Australian winter. They spend their non-breeding season (August to March) in eastern Australia.

Many sites that provide suitable habitat for Latham’s Snipe are under threat from wetland draining, modification for urban development and / or agricultural activities such as grazing and cropping.
